I tried this with my house on Unrest. I saved everything, packed it up in a crate and then immediately restored it.
I also noticed that some of my items appeared to be missing, especially lots of paintings I had on the wall.
I zoned out and zoned back in and everything was where it should be. So as it stands, this might just be a visual side-effect to moving so many house items at once. We'll continue to look into the problem.
