All U.S. servers will come down for a hotfix at 7am PDT on Friday, June 3, 2011. The expected downtime is one hour. The Splitpaw server will have its hotfix at 5am London Time on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Estimated downtime is 2 hours. Here are the patch notes:

COMBAT MECHANICS

  • Casting Speed increases will work the same as before GU60.
  • Reuse and Recovery will once again apply adders *after* multipliers.
  • Additionally: Casting Speed will also now apply adders *after* multipliers (this was not the case before) so you should see a slight *increase* in casting speed compared to pre-GU60 numbers.
  • Negative Casting speed debuffs will now apply the correct amount of increases instead of max increase at all times.
 

The 9/14 patch notes contained the following note:

Fixed a bug with and re-enabled new spells replacing old spells in the hotbar if the new spell is more powerful.

Apparently, there was more than one bug.  There are reports that it is now replacing the existing spells regardless of whether they are more powerful or not.  The good news is that they also snuck in a flag to turn it off.  Rothgar posted this on the official forums:

We are looking into the issue, it shouldn’t be replacing more powerful spells with weaker ones.

In the meantime, you have the ability to turn it off right now if you place the following line in your INI file.

replace_spells_on_hotbar false

We will be exposing this option to the Options window soon.

So add that line into your eq2.ini file in your game directory (or create it if it doesn’t exist) and you should be good to go.

GENERAL

  • Effects can once again proc on an AE autoattack.

DRUID RING EVENT

  • Tunarian supply officers will now buy items for coin, like many other merchants.
  • The druid portal to Nektulos Forest now lands adventurers closer to the druid ring.
  • An issue preventing players from harvesting magiliths after they died has been fixed.
  • The bug that prevented looting A Floret of Growth with certain group loot settings has been fixed.

SPELLS

  • Ancestral Sentry can once again be cast on raid and group friends. It can no longer be cast on pets or NPCs.

ROYAL PALACE OF ROEHN THEER

  • Plane Cracker should no longer occasionally cast if Approaching Equilibrium is slain before reaching Roehn Theer.
  • Approaching Equilibrium should now despawn almost immediately upon being slain.
  • Void-charged Soul and Star-charged Soul should now correctly be dispelled from both players when they successfully reach each other.
  • Void-charged Soul and Star-charged Soul now have a 3s delay after being applied before they begin reacting to other nearby charged souls.

BATTLEGROUNDS

  • Hook arrow will no longer cause the victim to drop the flag.
 

GENERAL

Fixed an issue where possessing a creature would sometimes make your attackable target not attackable until you changed targets.

RESEARCH

You may now have all characters on your account researching at the same time.

USEABILITYONPLAYER COMMAND

The useabilityonplayer command now supports group and raid slot numbers in place of the player’s name.

For example, to cast Enduring Breath on the 12th person in the raid:

/useabilityonplayer r12 Enduring Breath

To cast Enduring Breath on the 3rd person in your group:

/useabilityonplayer g3 Enduring Breath

ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENTS

Focus: Death March now adds 10% damage reduction to On the March in PVE Combat and 5% damage reduction in PVP Combat.

QUESTS

The Flames That Cannot Die Quest has been altered. It was not intended that you have to go through the library several times for that update and as such the quest has been updated. Those who have completed at least one part of that stage should petition to have it updated.

ITEMS

Leather Breastplate of Divine Equilibrium and Vest of Divine Equilibrium now have Critical Vigor as an effect.

PERAH’CELSIS’ ABOMINABLE LABORATORY

Arkatanthis’ benthic freeze curse now has a max duration of 60 secs, rather than lasting indefinately.

Arkatanthis’ curse of destruction now lasts 20 secs, giving players more time to remove it. The benthic warlord and defiler adds associated with Arkatanthis now have significantly lower max health.

Arkatanthis will no longer cast curse of destruction or benthic freeze on players actively fighting the benthic warlord adds. Players with curse of destruction on them will no longer be chosen to fight the benthic warlord adds.

YKESHA’S INNER STRONGHOLD

Ykeshan Footsoldiers should now drop Ykeshan warbeads in both the Field General Uktap and Ykesha encounters

GENERAL

Most of the guards in Freeport, Qeynos and Kelethin have had their levels reduced to what they had previously. Exceptions to this include palace guards and patrolling knights.

ITEMS

All jewelry from the Vigilant: Final Destruction has had resists added.

Summoning the mount from the Ykeshan Warbear whistle will now work if you are level 80 in either adventuring or tradeskilling.

The valuable, Onayan staff of the waves, should now be on the Vasty Deep collection tables.

QUESTS

The Footsteps of Dartain: Observation – The projected erudite will no longer disappear during conversation.

In Search of Lucan – Fyr’remd Lorak should no longer disappear during conversation.

“Confronting the Godslayer” requires the raid lichform version of Perah’Celsis in order to update. The prose is now more specific about this.

Delinah now properly updates “The Footsteps of Dartain: Emergence.”

Players who delete or decline the various “Footsteps of Dartain” signature quests can now re-obtain them.

Stage 3 of “Whispers from the Past” now correctly mentions Silent City instead of Living Tombs.

PALACE OF ROEHN THEER

Kendis and Penda United now have lower maximum health.

The 3 sages in challenge mode now synchronize their use of prismatic sphere with their exchange of stones (tank switching).

SUNDERED FRONTIER

Neophyte Sairal in the Hall of Necromancy seeks adventurers 80 and higher for a special task.

VASTY DEEP: THE ABANDONED LABS

Adds on the Kadara’Mola fight in Vasty Deep: The Abandoned Labs should now de-spawn should she reset or the encounter breaks.

 

Big fan of the raid Updates for today!

GENERAL
It should be more difficult to get out of PvP combat after engaging someone in PvP combat.
You can no longer break PvP encounters by using /yell.
All raid mobs have had their damage and melee reduced by 10-20%

BATTLEGROUNDS
You will now only get a death credit in a battleground if you actually die.
Ungrouped members on the same team should be autogrouped after a few seconds.
The old group icons are back. So custom UI group icons should work normally now.
Russian names now display properly in the battleground leaderboard window.
Healing from wards will now count as healing given and healing received in the battleground leaderboard.

ITEMS
The descriptions for Clarissa’s Content Countenance and Criggle’s Chaotic Characteristics have been updated to resolve some confusion issues.

The Hua Mein daily crafting missions now include only 1 mission that requires harvesting, equivalent to the Kerra and Quel’ule factions.

LAIR OF THE DRAGON QUEEN
Toxxulia should do less damage with her spells and melee.

PALACE OF ROEHN THEER
Maalus Shadowfyre will now cast his AOE spells at least 12 seconds apart from one another, rather than 8 seconds, giving players more time to recover after the previous AOE spell ticks.

PERAH CELSIS ABONIMABLE LABORATORY
Perah Celsis should do slightly less damage with his spells.

Also, the Welcome Screen has been updated to include information about the current Daily Mission as well as support for upcoming Hot Zones.*

My understanding is that Hot Zones will be a rotation of zones that offer extra XP, AA XP, or other rewards.

Since Test has been watching quite a few things by pass 'normal' Testing in the last month it's only normal to wonder if we're going to get this upcoming one.   The new update cycle is supposed to give us longer times to break stuff and hopefully get a new update that has it fixed before it goes live.  If we get it at the end of this month and it goes live 2-3 weeks later .. then nothing has changed.  

Live has been hotfixed for things as of the 8/11 .. according to the Patch notes on Test the last time Test was updated was on the 31st and it was noted .. “Update with latest fixes.”  … TO LIVE!   *sigh*

Perhaps we could save the snarky complaints for PMs to me instead of trying to derail the preview thread for the next update SMILEY
