Today’s update includes a fix to an AA Mirror bug, many quest tweaks, and a mechanic to help with people going AFK in Battlegrounds.

ALTERNATE ADVANCEMENT

  • Fixed a bug which caused achievement mirrors to not work correctly in some instances on a PvP server.

BATTLEGROUNDS

  • You can no longer join a battlegrounds match while possessing a creature.
  • Fixed a bug which allowed group leaders to kick people from group in battlegrounds.
  • We’ve implemented an AFK voting system into battlegrounds in order to report teammates that have gone AFK in a match. A player can only be voted AFK if they haven’t had any recent activity. If they receive 3 unique votes for AFK’ing during a match they will be removed from the match and will not receive a reward. Players removed this way will also receive the truancy debuff.

QUESTS

  • Bonemire – The quest “Go back to Vegli” now correctly identifies the name of the gnome you need to return to.  It has been renamed “Go Back to Vegnit”.
  • Players who are searching for the remains of the ritual tablets for the quest “The Footsteps of Dartain: Enlightenment” must now find six separate tablet shards.
  • Players who have completed the quest, “The Footsteps of Dartain: Emergence” but have not yet accepted the quest, “The Footsteps of Dartain: Observation”, may now hail Pleni Mas’arc and receive her second quest.
  • The following quests should now update for all group members who are on the correct stage:
    • Erudin Research Halls:
      • Gear Gathering
      • Coded Messages
    • Royal Palace of Erudin:
      • Expropriation
      • Collecting Seals
    • Demetrik’s Bastion:
      • Poisons
    • The Vigilant: Incursion:
      • Sash of Courage
      • A Little Zap Will Do
      • Swiping Scrolls
    • The Vigilant: Infiltration:
      • Collecting Cargo
      • Weapon Seizure
      • Metaphysical Matters
      • Nowhere To Be Found
    • The Vigilant: Rescue:
      • Pets of Zek
      • The Crook Cook
      • The Captain’s Implements
      • Secrets of the Tallonites
    • Vasty Deep: The Conservatory:
      • Void Botany
    • Vast Deep: The Abandoned Labs:
      • Tissue Issues
    • Vasty Deep: The Vestigial Cella:
      • Ca’Na Medallions

We love our fantasy here at ZAM.com. Stepping into a world that’s not our own is the true purpose of MMOs, isn’t it? So it should come as no surprise to learn that our ever entertaining host of The BFF Report, Mike B. aka Fony, had a hankering to descend into the depths of Hell and explore the fantastical world located within the recently released, action game, Dante’s Inferno.

A word of warning… this video (and the corresponding video game) are not for the faint of heart, and the review features censored (but still graphic) images of blood, gore, and adult situations. But if you want to check out the latest in fantasy action gaming, make sure you check out Episode 19 of The BFF Report.

Y’all are cordially invited to the next exciting EQII ZAM Developers Chat!  Members of the EverQuest II Developer and Community Teams will be there, bring your questions!  If you’d like to submit questions in advance, send e-mail to [email protected] (subject Dev Chat).

  • Thursday, March 4, 5:00pm PDT
  • In the #EQ2 channel on ZAM IRC
  • General chat during the actual event will be in #EQ2FFA

New to Allakhazam IRC?  Instructions here!  Or use EQ2Wire’s EQII ZAM Chat portal.

Here is a handy Time Zone Converter, already set to Pacific time, to help you plan!

The Internet is always changing and each day sites hit the World Wide Web with new features, designs, and options for users. Although we had a fondness for our previous look, the ZAM staff knew that we could do things better… make our site bigger, better, faster, and stronger. The results are in front of you.

In addition to the new, non-drab colors and enhanced feature story box, we made a number of improvements that should help you navigate around our entire network. Whether you want to take a trip around the content features on ZAM.com or check out the headlines before heading to Wowhead or MMOUI, everything is accessible by an easy mouse click.

There are lots of subtle changes throughout the site, but below you’ll find a few things that are new to ZAM.com and might be of interest to you, our users. Once you’ve read through the changes and had some time to check out the site, we’d like to hear your constructive feedback on what you like or don’t like about the new look, and you can do this by simply logging in and leaving a comment below this article.

Menu and Submenu System

To help facilitate our readers and their navigation preferences, we’ve built a two bar menu system that allows users to click through to specific pages that they’re looking for without a major hassle or having to deal with obnoxious dropdowns.

With a simple click on a top menu category, you’ll be given a list of specific pages within that section. Click again, and you’ll be taken to the section’s overall page where you can do a more general browse for whatever you’re looking for.

Condensed News Feed

News is important, especially that of the breaking kind. However, in our previous iteration the news section dominated our layout, forcing people to scroll through walls of text to find what they were looking for. Now we present a condensed blurb of news posts for you to quickly see the news of the day at a glance.

On top of that, we’ve added game specific tabs on what we consider the hottest games on or coming to market, so you can easily find out what’s the newest piece of content for Star Wars: The Old Republic or Final Fantasy XIV.

Video Page

Unlike our old system, we’ve now made it easy to search through all of our ZAM hosted videos and our most recent episodes of The BFF Report. Here you can find content from our major event trips, including E3, CES, and GDC, along with the latest trailers and videos from upcoming and released MMOs. We’re constantly updating this page, so if you see a video from one of your favorite games and would like to see it uploaded, make sure you let us know!

There you have it folks! ZAM.com is fresh and new, but we’re always looking to make more improvements. If you have any questions, comments, or feedback, please let us know by leaving a response below!

Today’s downtime gave us a couple of small fixes:

GENERAL

  • Ole’ Man Silvers should be willing to talk to you now.
  • Players who have lost or dropped their Huge Tiger Claws for the quest “Justice for Jojo” can loot another pair.

TRADESKILLS

  • The rare 10 quicksilver +1 rare harvest from gem nodes in Odus is now awarding kaborite instead of ulteran diamond as the rare.

While we haven’t seen the usual announcement, the monthly mini event Moonlight Enchantments (often called “The Grottos”) should be starting tonight!  The event usually turns on at 12:01am PST on the 20th and rusn until 11:59pm PST on the 21st. These times apply directly with no time conversion to all servers.

If you need to hand finding these mysterious mushroom rings or want a peek at the rewards, see our Moonlight Enchantments Mini Live Event page!

There will be a brief update tomorrow morning at the usual times.  Notes are below!

GENERAL

  • Guards will now help you find an NPC as long as they don’t want to kill you.
  • Adornments should now correctly apply to lower level cloth and chain armor.
  • Due to the recent changes to Oberon, it will no longer gain benefits from the Bane Warding effect.

QUESTS

  • Players should once again be able to complete the quest, “Ro’s Flame”.
  • Indis Surion and Navarius Orvalis now count the new Sentinel’s Fate heritage quests when considering whether to give you a title. They no longer require multiple hails if you’ve earned multiple titles, and they now provide a message detailing how many heritage items you have recovered in case this number differs from your quest count.

TRADESKILLS

  • There is no longer any upper level limit on the tradeskill faction writ quests from writ givers in Bathezid, Riliss, and Danak.
